3 Secrets to Finding the Perfect Date

Landing the perfect date might seem like a fairy tale, but it’s more realistic than you might think. According to a recent study published by Observer in 2018, there are more than 110 million adults looking for love in the United States alone. That’s nearly half of the adult population as a whole. That’s a stark contrast to the 72% of married adults in the 1960s.

Even though there are more single people than ever, it can still seem impossible to find that perfect date. If you’ve been struggling to meet someone great, here are three simple secrets to finding a great date.

Don’t be afraid of the apps.

Dating apps are quickly becoming the best way to meet other singles in your area. While these apps still carry a small stigma against their use from the turn of the century, these ideals are slowly being phased out as more people find their perfect match with a little online help. Whether you’re looking for local sex meets with older women or trying to score your future spouse, there are plenty of dating apps out there designed to meet your every need.

In fact, your local sex app might be the best way to click with someone you’re attracted to. These apps showcase their basic information, interests, and what they’re looking for through the online dating experience. Sure, there are more “serious” dating apps and sites out there, but sex apps and hookup apps like Tinder take off the pressure of your first date. When you rely on a casual dating app, you’re not painting this story of your honeymoon in your head. By meeting someone on a more casual app, you’re more likely to be yourself. You’re also more likely to reign in your expectations and see the other person for how they truly are: wonderful, whether they’re the perfect match for you or not. It’s no wonder Tinder has more than 9 billion matches and counting.

A perfect first date doesn’t mean that you’re going to end up with the person forever. Keep in mind that a perfect first date happens when two people click. Take the pressure off your first date and give online dating a try before writing it off completely.

Get involved with new activities and hobbies.

While it’s easy to swipe through Tinder on your couch, meeting in person can be another great way to scope out a potential date. Investing in new hobbies that connect you with other people, like going to the gym or visiting the park, can be perfect opportunities to strike up an interesting conversation. Even if you don’t land a date right away, these activities can help shy people work on their ability to talk to strangers with whom they want to connect. Bolstering your social skills through real-life experiences is a sure-fire way to make you feel more confident when you do land that perfect first date.

Of course, these hobbies need to be something that you’re interested in. Don’t join a gym if you don’t want to date someone who’s more into fitness than you are. Find hobbies that appeal to your interests so that you and the other person can talk about subjects in which you’re both passionate. Try going to more festivals if you love music or try volunteering if that’s what you’re into. In any case, these new hobbies are a great way to pad your Tinder profile; they will prove that you’re someone with interests outside of working or being in a relationship.

Talk with everyone and anyone.

That cute person on the train might just be your future spouse if you’re willing to go talk to them.

If you’re not interacting with a range of people each day, you might be missing out on a great opportunity. Of course, not every person you talk to will be receptive to your advances. When you try to talk to someone new, keep it casual and test the waters before laying on your flirtatious personality. If someone doesn’t seem interested in talking to you, there are plenty of other fish in the sea. The important thing is that you’re putting yourself out there. The more people you talk to each day, the easier it will be to work up the courage to talk to people you truly have an interest in.

Dating in the modern era is no easy task. If you’re trying to land the perfect first date, it takes a lot of dedication and persistence. With these tips in mind, you’ll be sure to make it one step closer toward your goal.
