Budget-Friendly Apartment Renovation Tips According to Investar USA

Disclaimer: The author has no affiliation with any of the products, services or companies discussed in this article.

Investar USA is an American real estate company that specializes in major renovation projects on a variety of property types. Needless to say, this company knows their stuff when it comes to renovating a space. It would be extremely wise to invest in their services, but if you’re wanting to do a renovation on your own they serve as a wealth of knowledge.

According to Investar USA, renovating a home takes time and patience (and also money). There are a few tips you can follow to help you with the process, especially if you’re hoping to renovate your space on a budget. Some of these renovation tips might seem like small inconsequential things, but trust us when we say that they will make all the difference.

Let the fireplace serve as a focal point

If you have a fireplace within your home, you should be doing whatever it takes to take advantage of this classical home feature. This doesn’t mean to keep the fire burning throughout the year, but rather to set it as the focal point of the room. The fireplace does not need to be ornate in order for you to do this.

Think of the overall style of the room and use that times 10 when it comes to redecorating or renovating the fireplace space. Don’t be afraid to paint the bricks another color (we recommend off white) in order to brighten up the room. Treat the mantle as the perfect exhibition for your seasonal accessories and holiday-themed trinkets.

Paint your front door

Just as you can paint the fireplace you can also paint your front door. It is becoming more and more acceptable to paint a front door yellow, red, blue, or whatever color suits you most. If your door is completely outdated consider investing in a brand new one. If not, just slap on a fresh coat of paint and call the job done.

Build some internal shelving

Shelving serves two major purposes. The first is obvious – it creates more surface area for you to store things – but the second reason is more under-the-radar. Shelving can also be extremely aesthetically pleasing and add a certain charm to any home. Invest in a custom-made shelving unit to not only store your precious belongings, but also add that special something that catches everyone’s eye.

Switch out your countertops

Now you’re probably already wondering how much this renovation will cost you. The answer could be anywhere from a few hundred to thousands of dollars. If you find a laminate worktop that fits well into your space you won’t necessary have to break the bank. Search around at IKEA for custom made laminate worktops. It will make a world of difference and instantly transform an outdated kitchen.

Focus on your home’s outdoor space

Maybe you don’t have much to work with in terms of a yard, but this doesn’t mean you can’t make some improvements to your home’s outdoor space. Plant a few flowers, mow the grass, install a few nice lanterns on either side of the front door…the options are endless.
